My Experience

I’ve had the privilege of working on over 100 projects with a diverse range of clients across various industries. My journey has allowed me to delve into various technologies and methodologies, enhancing my expertise and delivering exceptional results for my clients.

Technological Expertise

Throughout my career, I got to work on a wide array of technologies. My programming skills span languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, and PHP. In the realm of e-commerce, I have worked extensively with platforms like Scipio, OFBiz, Shopware, Broadleaf, Magento, and WooCommerce.

My experience with content management systems includes WordPress, Magnolia CMS, Redaxo, and Strapi, allowing me to create and manage dynamic and scalable websites. For mobile app development, I have utilized frameworks and languages such as Flutter, Cordova, Swift, and Objective-C to deliver seamless user experiences across devices.

In the field of artificial intelligence, I have worked with tools and libraries like Deeplearning4J, Pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, Bard, ChatGPT and Lllama, integrating AI capabilities into various applications. My database expertise includes PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Clickhouse, and Elasticsearch, ensuring efficient data management and retrieval.

I have also worked with ORM frameworks like Hibernate and geo/spatial tools such as PostGIS and Esri. For document processing, I have used Apache POI (Excel) and Apache FOP (PDF). My DevOps skills encompass Docker, Docker Swarm, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Sentry, facilitating continuous integration and deployment. Additionally, I have experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, WireMock, and Selenium, ensuring the reliability and performance of applications.

  • Role: Project Manager & Senior Developer
  • Timeframe: Feb. 2011 - Jun. 2013
  • Description: Developed a custom e-commerce solution, including a bespoke content management system, for multiple brands within the 1&1 group (GMX, Mail.com, Web.de, etc.). Implemented using an open-source ERP system based on Java.

Amadeus Travel

  • Role: Project Manager & Senior Developer
  • Timeframe: Aug. 2014 – Dec. 2014
  • Description: Created an internal ordering system for server capacity provisioning, including automated system setup. Developed a custom e-commerce solution with direct integration into internal accounting, using an open-source ERP system on Java and OpenShift.

Börsenverein des deutschen Buchhandels

  • Role: Project Manager
  • Timeframe: Jan. 2014 - Jan. 2017
  • Description: Launched an Amazon competitor for the German book industry, buchhandel.de. Fully integrated the database of available books in Germany, including search functionality (millions of entries) and OAuth integration. Developed a mobile app for the book fair, using an open-source ERP system and a Java-based content management system.

  • Timeframe: Aug. 2013 - Sep. 2021
  • Description: Relaunched and continuously developed the web portal. Implemented a one-page shop for the web portal and complex annual campaigns. Integrated multiple single sign-on protocols, using an enterprise version of a Java-based content management system.

  • Description: Developed and advised on an international checkout process for domains and related products. Integrated various payment providers, using an open-source ERP system based on Java.

  • Description: Upgraded existing software components to a new ERP framework and relaunched the online shop with a new design. Implemented complex, customizable products and search functionality using Apache SOLR and Algolia. Managed a multi-national, multi-organizational team, using a Java-based ERP system.

L’Oréal

  • Role: Consultant
  • Timeframe: Jul. 2014 - Aug. 2016
  • Description: Advised the procurement team on digital projects for all 27 brands. Participated in the supplier selection process and co-conceptualized a Data Warehouse.

  • Description: Advised the executive team on digital strategy and developed a concept for digital realignment.

  • Description: Developed a custom e-commerce solution for server capacity sales and a marketplace for vendors and buyers. Managed a multi-national team, using an open-source ERP system based on Java.

  • Description: Developed multiple modules for the content management system of the cantonal administration’s websites. Implemented an event calendar with backend API integration and multiple interface connections, using a licensed version of a Java-based content management system.

  • Description: Developed a self-service portal for small businesses and a backend for user input verification. Integrated various Creditsafe data exchange interfaces, using a licensed version of a Java-based content management system.

  • Description: Developed an online-to-print white-label shop with direct machine order integration and full product configurability, using an open-source ERP system based on Java and a .NET application.
